Tallentire Hill

A trig pillar can be found atop this 223m hill in north west Cumbria. A right of way which is fenced on both sides can be followed up and over the hill. But the biggest treat comes with the view across to the Lake District mountains. Not only can you see the giants of the north and north western fells like Skiddaw, Grisedale Pike, Hopegill Head and Grasmoor, but on a good day you can even spot Helvellyn, Steeple and Pillar.

Sale Fell

Sale Fell is a small hill near Cockermouth in the English Lake District. It is popular with locals, as it offers gentle walking and lovely views across Bassenthwaite Lake to Skiddaw.

Longlands Fell

Longlands Fell is a small fell in the northern part of the English Lake District. It is situated in the high ground known as the Uldale Fells, 5.5 kilometres south west of the village of Caldbeck. It reaches a height of 483 m and it is the most northerly fell in the Lake District.

Go Ape

Nestled in the UK’s only true mountain forest, Whinlatter is only a half an hour drive from Brayton Park, where you can take on heights of the Tree Top Challenge, explore the various forest paths on foot or all-terrain segways and even visit the centre’s nest cam for footage of rare ospreys (during the right season).

Lake District Coast Aquarium

Located on the Maryport marina, only a 20 minute drive from Brayton Park, the Lake District Coast Aquarium is home to a multitude of aquatic creatures – from tropical fish to (what kind?) sharks. Admire the wide range of sea creatures during a day of fish filled fun!
